Another cake. To celebrate, well, nothing in particular except that today was a good day. Black forest cake is my supreme celebration cake. It's the cake I would choose if I could only eat one type of cake for the rest of my life. What about you?
I came here a couple of times to look at these excellent pictures of cake and contemplate the question. Too many answers presented themselves so I let it go. However now in retrospect, I have to say here that there is one standby cake recipe that I go to all the time. It is simple and easy and made with things always there in my kitchen. I just add different flavours each time I make it, like choc, vanilla or chopped fruit. It turns out the best every time. So these days I don't even bother with the other cake recipes.

What a lovely thing to have your special cake - sounds very hearty. It's great when that particular taste just makes your heart feel like it's home!
